Banksia coccinea the scarlet banksia
Our posies and bunches this week feature the Banksia coccinea commonly called the scarlet banksia. Australians love their Banksias in particular the world renown Australian botanical illustrator, Celia Rosser. Over a period of 25 years Celia Rosser, aka The Banksia Lady, painted every known Banksia, including the Banksia coccinea with each illustration taking around three months to complete. Her beautiful artwork can be seen in many Australian Art Galleries and her books titled 'The Banksias'.
