From the very beginning when travellers would arrive back in Australia from the South African Cape colony with various seeds and cuttings of the beautiful South African native flowers the King Protea (Protea cynaroides) was extremely popular. The popularity of the King Proteas gathered momentum through-out the 1800's and in the early 1900's any Sydney garden that had these spectacular plants in full bloom warranted being reported in the Sydney Morning Herald!
Our Posies and Bunches this week feature the beautiful King Protea which you can find on our website: www.nativebunch.com.au
