The Banksia French Connection
The Banksia is such an entrenched part of the Australian landscape but in the early 1800's Napoleon's wife Empress Josephine was so obsessed with the Australian flora, in particular the Banksia, that she had over 100 Australian plants planted in her garden just outside of Paris - Malmaison. This little piece of Australia in France was greatly admired by all who visited the Garden. This week we have used the beautiful bird's nest Banksia which is just starting to flood the flower market and will be around for a couple of months yet!
You can check out how we used this Banksia in our posies this week at www.nativebunch.com.au
